This honor roll is a standard honor roll, based on the actual number of games played. Since earlier teams played fewer games, an “equalized” 100-game equivalent honor is also provided.
Because earlier Indian teams didn’t have the opportunity to participate in as many tournaments as later teams, they played significantly fewer games. This makes it difficult for players on earlier teams to attain places on the “standard” batting honor roll, which is based on actual number of games played.
This “equalized” batting honor roll calculates and “rebalances” batting statistics on an assumption of a 100-game season for all players, providing a more realistic comparative representation of individual performance.
